Let's make the past concise, and learn to keep the future wise. So, I completed my graduation in 2019, started my Master's in Data Science a year later, and opted out of it a year later.
I have a theoretically great understanding of most programming concepts, and better than average at understanding and analyzing algorithms. I am decent at coding in Python, more than comfortable with its mostly used libraries specifically, Pandas, Numpy etc.
But there's always this ache inside. A certain sort of. That all of it is useless.
And it will be until I create stuff. Meaningless, but unique stuff.
Not writing a thousandth iteration of QuickSort or predicting who survived the Titanic.
The majority of it is down to me and I own it, and a very minor part is due to the Indian education system's failure to prioritize originality and practical stuff.
Since the ranting is now done, here are a few small goals I have decided for myself since I am getting back.
Getting more disciplined regarding football analytics and regularly documenting my progress in the form of blog posts.
Design at least one (and maybe two) applications that make my life easier, without copying code from somewhere else. (Got the inspiration for this task from the blog by, Osvaldo Brignoni. Check out the 5-minute journal he created for himself here.
Realizing some problems and collecting data by building a scraper, and doing most of it by myself.
Open to suggestions, in all of this.
